Formal Education

This screen is used to record an employee's Formal Education, such as Bachelor of Arts, Masters Degree in Business Administration or any other technical qualifications.

Prerequisites

Rules and Guidelines

  • This window can also be used to store details of the qualifications that an employee wished to achieve as part of their development.
  • The information may also be linked to a competency (normally a Level 1 Competency), if you are using and have established the rules for Competency Management

 ESS Access   

  • Information entered on this window could be accessible to the employee when logging into Employee Self Service.

Field Information

ClosedCompetency

This displays the Competency Code if the qualification is part of the company's competency record.

ClosedQualification Code

This displays the Qualification Code to be attached to the employee record.

  • This field may be left blank if the course to be attended is not part of a qualification.

 

ClosedCourse Description

This field displays the description of the qualification code selected.

ClosedStart Date

This is the starting qualification date for the course attended.

ClosedCompletion Date

This displays the completion date (if the qualification has been obtained by the employee).

  • Leave the field blank if the employee is yet to attain the qualification.
  • The date can be manually entered when the employee attains the qualification.
  • If a Qualification Code has been entered, the date will be automatically updated when the employee completes all the core modules and the required number of elective modules
  • If a Qualification Code has been entered, this field will be updated to show the date of the last module completed.

 

ClosedInstitution

This field displays a list of predefined options detailing the Institute where the employee received the qualification.

ClosedQualification Major

This field displays the details of the topics covered in the qualification (e.g. some employees may have a dual major, etc.).

ClosedQualification Minor

This field displays the details of the topics covered in the qualification.
